The IPC (International Program Committee) meeting took place during the EAHIL conference in Basel, Switzerland. All of the participants agreed that the committee still needs more people who would be able to help to organize next year’s event. A few participants declared that they would try to persuade some friends from places such as Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.
The topics for the conference were eventually identified by the committee members who were present at the meeting. The names, signed to the main themes, were changed, as well as the topics proposed to each session were clarified. It was also agreed to add a short note to every of the thematic category that would help the authors, who submit their proposals, to choose the right path. The discussion was also about the keynote speakers, among which there could be someone out of the library environment (i.e. a publisher), as well as someone from the local area, a Polish person.
The chosen thematic order was presented throughout the announcement of the EAHIL2020 during the closing ceremony of the EAHIL2019. It was also published on the next year’s conference webpage. The main theme is openness, according to the conference motto “Be Open, Act Together”.
During the meeting, the agenda of the IPC works and the meeting date was discussed. The IPC meeting will take place in Lodz in November 2019. The members of the committee received a few practical tips concerning the arrival in Poland.
